Building facilities
The Belle van Zuylen tower is characterised by a dynamic mix of residential space, offices, shops and leisure areas. Facilities that complement and enhance each other and sometimes merge indistinguishably. This multifunctionality is the basis for the underlying concept called ‘The world of the Belle van Zuylen tower’.
The sustainable character of the building and the functions it houses are illustrated by its modest energy requirement. For example, heat from the offices is reused to heat the residential areas; a form of energy conservation that is totally unique in the Netherlands. Heat and cold energy are also stored at ground water level, thereby reducing the number of systems that are required in order to heat and cool the building. |
